Root Canal therapy
Overview
Root canal treatment is used to treat infection or inflammation inside a tooth while preserving the natural tooth structure. Infection may occur as a result of deep decay, trauma, cracks, or other damage to the tooth.
During treatment, the infected tissue is removed, the root canals are cleaned and disinfected, and the tooth is sealed to help prevent reinfection. A filling or crown is often recommended afterward to restore strength and function.
